ERS > Team Member > Holly Nelson
Holly joined ERS as a Consultant in January 2021. She studied a BA (hons) in Sociology at Newcastle University and then an MA in Sociology & Social Research at Newcastle University. In between the two degrees, and whilst completing her MA, Holly worked as Operations Manager of a small international development NGO named COCO, completing qualitative field work in remote Northern Tanzania on the impacts of a sustainable agriculture training programme on Maasai women. Holly’s academic interests are focussed on the intersections between gender and consumer capitalism, completing a qualitative dissertation throughout the pandemic utilising online-surveys to gain data on engagement with the menstrual health marketplace. Holly has a good working understanding of the public sector and the third sector, working for DEFRA before moving into a charity operations role.
