SOCIO-ECONOMIC
ANALYSIS
ERS
has a wealth of experience of undertaking socio-economic analysis
for a range of organisations across a variety of subject areas
and themes. Work has included the development of primary research
exercises including business and learner surveys, assessment
of the full range of published data used to assess performance
and highlight need at all geographic levels and completion
of sector studies across a range of topic areas including
learning and skills, industry and local/national economies.
These studies have been used for a range of purposes including
the provision of information for funding bids, feasibility
studies, investment decisions and market intelligence to inform
the development of initiatives including City Strategy Pathfinders
and evolving City Region structures.
Socio-economic analysis studies have included:
• Baseline production, data sourcing and management
• Appropriate use of a range of innovative consultation
techniques
• Assessment of the impact (economic and social, forecast
and retrospective) of initiatives, policies and developments
including the Review of Sub-National Economic Development
and Regeneration (SNR)
• Management and analysis of large scale surveys of
residents, learners and businesses
• Local, regional and national learning and skills studies
• Area-based socio-economic profiles
Our socio-economic analyses utilise the nationally recognised
expertise within the ERS team to produce reports based on
a solid evidence base from which policy and investment decisions
can be based.
We pride ourselves on providing clients with clear, informative
and user friendly reports that minimise jargon and over-complicated
analysis whilst maximising the virtues of an independent and
informed research intervention..
