Impact Study and Assessment of the relocation of GLOSCAT –
South West RDA
ERS
are currently working with SWRDA to evaluate the economic
impact of the relocation of GLOSCAT's Gloucester operation
to new state of the art facilities as part of the Gloucester
Quays developed by Peel Holdings and British Waterways. The
South West Regional Development Agency, GLOSCAT, the LSC,
and English Partnerships are keen to assess the nature and
level of impact that the relocation has on the economy of
Gloucester and the wider sub region, and regard this study
as being very innovative in terms of comparable research.
ERS are currently assessing the current impact of GLOSCAT
in the local economy in term of students, employees, procurement
and construction combining an adapted 'Green Book' approach
to assess the base and construction cases. The study team
is also consulting with key stakeholders, students and businesses
to fully understand the wider significance of the relocation
in terms of both the wider Quays development and also the
regeneration priorities of Gloucester.
The commission extends to 2009, when ERS will be able to evaluate
the full impact of the new facilities. ERS
