Andy
Parkinson BA(Hons) MPhil PgDip MIED
Andy is an Associate Director at ERS and has significant experience
of managing studies of a whole range of regeneration initiatives
including SRB, NDC, NRF and NMPs. Andy recently led the evaluation
of Neighbourhood Working in Priority Neighbourhoods on behalf of
ONE Nottingham, the evaluation of Hartlepool’s LAA Programme
and the evaluation of Sheffield’s Liveability & Public
Realm Management Models on behalf of Sheffield City Council.
Andy
recently managed national studies on behalf of MLA Council including
the evaluation of the DCSF funded Book Ahead and Boys into Books
Programmes and the evaluation of the impact of local authority activity
for the 2008 National Year of Reading on behalf of the National
Literacy Trust. Andy is also supporting the delivery of a longitudinal
study on behalf of MLA Council that aims to capture the outcomes
delivered through the Renaissance Hubs community engagement activities.
He
has a particular interest in approaches to locality working, in
particular the local interpretation and implementation of the Communities
on Control White Paper, as well as community safety initiatives
and has managed the evaluation of Neighbourhood Warden schemes,
Police Community Support Officers (PCSO) teams, target hardening
initiatives and approaches to tackling anti-social behaviour.
Andy
has previously held roles within health authorities supporting the
delivery of the Tyne and Wear Health Action Zone (HAZ) programme
as well as managing the research function of Northumbria Police’s
Crime Management Department.
