Ged
has managed a range of community development and regeneration programmes
and led
strategic initiatives related to Sustainable Communities Strategies,
Local Area Agreements and
developing locality working approaches. He has worked across LSP
themes and structures, with a particular focus on establishing productive
partnerships with shared commitment and priorities.
Ged
is particularly interested in the empowerment agenda and how strategy
can realise local action, joining top-down and bottom-up processes
to unlock strategic objectives and promote sustainable communities.
He is equally able to facilitate exploration of ideas, consensus-building
and productive planning with councillors, managers or local residents.
Ged has managed a variety of initiatives to evaluate and improve
partnership working, using his practical experience to support effective
policy development and implementation.
As
a Principal Consultant at ERS Ged has managed research studies relating
to community empowerment and cohesion, community safety, culture
and heritage, health, regeneration and worklessness. The focus of
these has been on generating insight and information to inform development
of public services to enhance delivery and improve local quality
of life.
