| Evaluation
of the Regional Investing In Communities Programme (EEDA)
ERS were appointed by EEDA in November 2006 to evaluate the
Regional Investing In Communities (IiC) Programme.
The Regional IiC Programme aims to advise the development
of activities and priorities within EEDA and key partners
by:
• Developing baseline quantitative information to help
inform priority and target setting and to monitor trends,
for example in relation to specific vulnerable groups or pockets
of deprivation.
• Improving understanding of the needs and issues facing
particular communities, such as barriers to employment and
participation, to help improve the effectiveness of future
programmes.
• Exploring and evaluating effective interventions,
piloting new approaches and building on evidence-based best
practice, with the aim of influencing local activities and
integrating these approaches in mainstream service provision.
The evaluation seeks to review the outcomes and impact of
the regional IiC Programme and identify best practice and
lessons learnt to inform the next phase of the regional IiC
Programme. It also aims to assess the overall balance and
focus of the Programme, and advise on future direction, including
potential priorities and improved effectiveness.
This commission follows our appointment to evaluate the Norfolk
Sub Regional IiC Programme – underlining our growing
expertise in supporting clients in the East of England.
