Economic Impact of The Sage Gateshead - The Sage Gateshead

In December 2005 ERS was commissioned to assess the economic impact of The Sage Gateshead from construction to date as the key arts and cultural venue in the region. The Sage Gateshead is a centre for music, the building forming a landmark on Tyneside as part of the wider regeneration of the area's river frontage.

ERS’ work involved a stand alone impact assessment of the employment and GVA impact of the venue from construction to the end of its first full year of operation. The study also considered the catalytic impact to the region of having an iconic and prestigious arts venue as part of its cultural and investment offer. The study also includes the provision of advice and guidance for The Sage Gateshead to collect relevant data for future studies of this nature.
